I would like staff to be able to practice placing a "wheal" or "bleb" on the IV arm.  Does anyone have any tips or techniques to make that happen?

I can suggest hot dogs - the bleb looks awesome...

I also have to agree with hot dogs with natural casing. Students practiced intradermal injections till the hot dog became filled with blebs.

Demo-dose makes an Inject-Ed product for SQ and wheals and they are great but cost $21 for 6. Hot dogs are much cheaper!

Try using chicken legs.  Keep it cold and only take it out right before you are ready to start to use it.  Our students have had great success.
