pre-labeled medicines for scenarios?
by JoAnne Raatz - Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 8:15 AM
Has anyone found a source for pre-labeled medicines for scenarios? (po meds and drips).  We do order Demo-Dose meds, but none match the NLN scenarios from Laerdal.

There is a software program available from demo dose where you can print your own labels. You can order it through the Pocket Nurse online catalog. If you are doing a lot of meds it might be a good way to go. I do not have the software, but maybe someone who does will comment about it today?

I use Labeler.  It is easy to use and you can set a series of labels in excel and then it will upload them and print them.  It generates bar codes and I have found it very useful.

I have a local hospital package candy in their packaging system.  Statement on medication states "For simulation only." I have done this for several years with 3 different hospital systems in 2 states.  Hospital pharmacies have been very willing to help.  Mary
