Many deans and directors are providing funds to purchase high-fidelity patient simulators. Clare Lamontagne, MS, RN, CNE is a professor of nursing at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC), where she has taught nursing since 1988. She received the Joseph Deliso Endowed Chair Award for Excellence in Teaching and College and Community Service in 2004, and was named to Who's Who in American Teachers in 2000 and again in 2005. She was also a recipient of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award in 1996. Professor Lamontagne has published and given numerous presentations on the use of multimedia and simulation in nursing, and has successfully involved respiratory therapy and other allied health departments at STCC in multidisciplinary scenarios. She is currently working on her PhD in nursing at the University of Massachusetts.
