Many deans and directors are providing funds to purchase high-fidelity patient simulators. With these large purchases, staff need to understand how to program the simulators in order to use the product and deliver learning pedagogy to its full potential. Programming a High-Fidelity Simulator opens with a video of a simulation, then provides step-by-step instructions on the programming that takes place behind the scenes of the finished scenario.

  1. Identify the advantages of using a high-fidelity patient simulator.
  2. Discuss the benefits to the instructor/learner of using a high fidelity patient simulator.
  3. Explain the process of configuring and controlling the computer and the patient monitors.
  4. Program a high-fidelity patient simulator for use in a basic scenario.
