Clinical Simulation Centers offer a vast array of simulation opportunities for students. The following Simulation Centers welcome inquiries from those who would like to learn more about these learning environments.

Name of Sim Center: APSUlute Health Care Center
Location: Clarksville, TN

Sim Center Highlights: At the APSUlute Health Care Center students enter a virtual hospital unit to develop and expand safe effective clinical care and reasoning. The center has 4 simulation labs and 1 assessment lab with a total of 4700 square feet. The APSUlute Virtual Hospital includes a 4 bed ICU, 6 bed intermediate unit, and 2 swing beds. We also have a 5 bed medical/surgical unit in an adjoining room. The virtual hospital and simulation is used across the curriculum from fundamental to advanced medical surgical students to include adult health, maternal child, community, and psychiatric simulations. We are in the progress of developing a virtual hospital unit for pediatrics.

Name of Sim Center: Gordon E. Inman College of Health Sciences and Nursing
Location: Nashville, TN
Sim Center Highlights: BUSN is housed in the 77,000 sq ft Inman Health Sciences Center. We have 15 classrooms, 4 labs (OB/PEDs, Acute care, and 2 adult health labs), & an online testing center. We have 3 Sim Men, 1 Sim Baby and multiple Vital Sims. Each lab has functioning headwalls, lift equipment and storage. We are a Laerdal Center of Educational Excellence.

Name of Sim Center: The MERI Medical Simulation Center
Location: Memphis, TN
Sim Center Highlights: The Medical Education & Research Institute (MERI) is a nonprofit medical teaching and training facility in Memphis, TN. MERI conducts state-of-the-art, hands-on educational courses for healthcare providers across the country and around the world. Unique features of The MERI Simulation Center are the combined use of task trainers, anatomy/procedural labs and human patient simulators for advanced hands-on instructions. Our simulation team includes experienced healthcare professionals who can formulate an educational strategy that pushes patient care standards to a new level of excellence. Our overarching goal is to provide a creative, risk-free, and supportive environment, which empowers faculty, students, and staff to generate and transmit knowledge and skills that impacts the quality of life for the global community.
