Bladder Scanner

We have an old abdomen that I'm hoping to use to simulate use of a bladder scanner. I have placed an IV bag in the pelvis but have yet to come up with a material to lay over top of the abdomen that can be sonographed. Any ideas?

Hi Hilary,

I think you have a great idea!  I could make you a skin or show you what I'd use if you're interested!

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for your reply! I'm interested in a recipe and am willing to make the skin myself. Any recipe ideas or quick items that can be easily picked up at the local store that I'm not thinking of?

Thanks,

Hilary Arroyo

Hi Hilary,

Understandable.  I use Smooth On products to make things like this.  Using their Skin Tite or Dragon Skin with skin tone pigment is really nice.  Depending on need, you could also use their gel to have a nice hypodermis layer.  It's easy and very reusable.

I've also created nice Ultrasound/IV pads with the same material.  Our ultrasound program loves them.

Best,
Gavin
