I am looking for ideas regarding a sepsis scenario for our final semester seniors. Anyone have any successful ideas?

If they are final semester seniors I would incorporate the use of invasive monitoring i.e. central line with CVP monitoring capacity as well as an arterial line. I would also incorporate more advanced labs such as lactate levels and procalcitonin. In addition to aggressive fluid resuscitation I would also use multiple vasopressors i.e. norepinephrine and vasopressin. In general the patient would present as fairly hemodynamically unstable. You could also incorporate lab value interpretation and diagnostic report interpretation in order to try to figure out the source of the infection. If the students do not do necessary interventions the patient can go into MODS and deteriorate further or improve and stabilize if they do. Hope this helps.
