Fees for Outside Users
by Jennifer Bulinski - Thursday, September 15, 2011, 9:47 AM

Our new Simulation Lab is looking to let outside users, such as hospitals, have the opportunity to use the Sim Lab. If anyone has done this, how much do you charge them for use of the facility? Thank you!

We are doing the same thing. Although we just opened our doors and have yet to book outside agencies, our business plan and operating plan has outlined a fee of $300 to rent the space for 4hours (this includes Sim technician). Then it would be dependent on if the outside agency needs an educator. If they do, then it is $75/hr per educator. Then we have allotted fees for supplies needed.
Hope this helps.

We did something similar. What we found out was that our sim techs were spending time with the outside vendors prior to the actual rental of our lab. Programming the manikin and making sure the settings were aligned with the objectives of our outside customers takes time. I would make sure to reflect this in your fee schedules.

Does anyone have a outline of what they charge when renting out their Simulation Center to outside users?
