Need Ketone strips to be positive

Hello to all,

Doing a simulation on DKA and I am trying to find a way to have Ketone Urine strips come up positive forĀ  out scenario? Any suggestions?

You can add acetone to your fake urine to get ketone results. A couple of mLs to a liter should do the trick.

Unfortunately, I have tried acetone and could not get a positive dip-stick result, even full strength. Is there a trick to this?

I believe Andrea is correct regarding the acetone though.
