Depending on your program size and needs, the lab coordinator position may vary. For our program, the lab coordinator is masters prepared RN who also teaches in the BSN program. As coordinator, she fulfills: lab scheduling of 3 labs and a seminar room for 30 faculty, coordinates with faculty lab supply orders, submits state funded equipment requests, writes and updates lab policies for faculty and students alike, does annual safety update for faculty, assists faculty with lab needs and simulation design and implementation.
We do not have a lab support person for simulation or to help us with any "open lab time" for student practice. If anyone has such a person, I would like to know their qualifications and duties.
