Standardized Patient Payscale

Hi all,
I was wondering whether any of you could share how much your program is paying, if any, to your standardized patient participants. We would like to be competitive with other schools, while not over-paying, of course.  My colleague and I were discussing the possibility of a tiered-scale where the pay is X during training and when they become trained or certified then the pay increases to X. Please let me know any suggestions you may have.

Thanks,
Melissa Walters

Hi, Melissa,

We pay $15/hour for training for roles and working as an SP. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have done quite a bit of research on pay and that is about average. Another great resource is the Association for Standardized Patient Educators. Best of luck!
